Royal Ruby Red Depression Glass
Royal Ruby Red depression glass was manufactured by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company from 1938 to 1940 and then through to the mid 1960's as it became such a popular and valuable coloring. Ruby Red was the name given to the deep crimson color of pressed glassware they were producing at that time and in the end they patented the name to prevent others from using it.
Other makers of depression glass will often refer to their red glassware as Royal Ruby Red or Ruby Red, but only the Anchor Hocking Glass Company truly own the right to use that name. The glassware is an amazing color and looks great as a collectible piece or as an item that you would use every day.
Due to the fact that the Royal Ruby was such a popular color to produce, the glass company made items in this color for much, much longer. Therefore it is also one of the most commonly found colors if you are looking for this type of glass at auction or on sites like eBay. Royal Ruby also comes in a variety pf patterns and also as a clear piece too (which look amazing) so there will be many differest types and styles of glassware for collectors to choose.
