Red Depression Glass
Ruby Red or Red Depression Glass is possibly one of the most striking of the colors that were used to make this mass production glass. During the depression era of 1929 to 1939, the bold and sometimes garish colors were used to quickly and cheaply style this type of pressed glassware. The bright coloring of this glass makes it a popular choice for collectors all over the world.
The Red depression glass is often called Ruby Red and was made by many of the major manufacturers such as McKee Glass, MacBeth-Evans and Jeannette Glass. Other names for the red coloring used to make this glassware is Royal Ruby as made by Anchor Hocking or Royal Red.
