Amber Depression Glass
Among the fairly unusual colors of depression glass is the amber colored items, also known as Madrid Amber due to the fact that the "Madrid" pattern and the color were used together quite often. Although many consider the amber depression glass to not be as valuable as other colors such as Royal Ruby, I believe that the Amber colored items hold their own.
Some pieces have a slightly brownish tinge to them or are more translucent that the other pieces but the overall coloring is an orangey brown or slightly yellow. The amber pieces came in a variety of patterns, but most notably the Madrid pattern by the Fedral Glass Company with it's almost regal, crested look.
There are many different types of items that come in this color. Soup bowls, plates, cups and saucers, vases and dishes of all shapes and sizes. Larger pieces by the Cambridge depression glass maker found in the Amber coloring seem to fetch a high price when sold.
